skills, knowledge & confidence to restore land with grazing
Learning Hub

Online Intro Course
Our online Intro Course blends live group discussions with pre-recorded webinars, giving students flexibility while still creating space for interactive learning. Participants are introduced to the core concepts essential for working with goats or running a targeted grazing business. Topics include regenerative agriculture principles, herd management, strategies for wildfire risk reduction, invasive plant control, and small-business contracting fundamentals. Whether you’re brand-new to goat grazing, looking to improve your skills, or exploring new business opportunities, this program provides a strong foundation to build upon.

In-Person Workshops
Our one- or two-day in-person workshops provide hands-on training in essential skills such as setting temporary electric fencing, identifying invasive and noxious weeds, and managing herds and dogs effectively in diverse environments. Designed to meet participants where they are, beginners gain a strong introduction to best practices, while experienced graziers expand their technical expertise, learn innovative approaches, and share peer-to-peer insights. By the end of each workshop, students leave with practical, field-ready skills they can immediately apply to real-world grazing projects.

Intensive Field Training
The most immersive of our offerings, intensive field training places students directly into an active goat grazing operation for two weeks or more. This trial period gives participants first-hand experience with the realities of daily herd care, client communication, and land stewardship at scale. In addition to managing goats and dogs, students practice setting fencing, hauling water, moving herds, and adapting to changing conditions in real time.
Field training is designed for individuals serious about employment in goat grazing or committed to launching or expanding their own service-grazing business. Because opportunities depend on landowner partnerships, availability varies by season. Completion of the Goatapelli online introductory course is required before enrolling.

Procurement & Continuing Education
Key topics include procurement strategies, best practices for drafting contract language and requirements, and guidance for vetting and evaluating service grazing bids. Drawing on decades of field experience, the course equips agencies, municipalities, and companies to confidently identify qualified grazing providers and avoid common pitfalls in the contracting process.

Custom Team Training
For organizations seeking tailored professional development, Goatapelli offers custom virtual or in-person trainings. These sessions are built to expand team knowledge and sharpen practical skills on the topics most relevant to your goals. Options include herd and land management, contracting for service grazing, and integrating goats into broader land-restoration strategies. Each training is developed collaboratively to ensure participants leave with actionable insights and tools they can apply immediately. This flexible offering serves corporate land managers, nonprofits, municipalities, and private landowners alike.
