Soil and nutrition are the foundation of agriculture.
We bring in goats to build enriched soil. Vigorous plants full of nutrition depend on the quality of soil below with balanced microbial activity. That’s why we look under the surface at water and mineral cycling, carbon levels, and living biota (all living organisms. i.e. bacteria, fungi, plants, animals that inhabit a given area).
Sunshine from above provides energy, carbon dioxide from the air supplies building blocks for photosynthesis; the root system pulls nutrients and water from the soil.
Fungi and bacteria need to be balanced at a 1:1 ratio for a healthy grassland. The true cost of land restoration treatments must address the unseen soil qualities below the surface.
Managed goat grazing helps feed the soil.
We work in multiple states, moving from job to job, migrating north to south, east to west, and up and down in elevation; working all the time for land restoration and watershed health. We work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Forest Service. We have state, county, and city contracts in several states. But, most of our business is on private land. The smallest area we have grazed was a 12-foot by 60-foot backyard. We grazed 30 baby goats there for three days. The biggest job we have done was oil field reclamation work across one million acres in Wyoming and Colorado.
